“Our Daddy Big Pip”

Preceded in death by Dannetta Williams-Pipkin and daughter Vivian (Toni Joe).

Marion Pipkin was born in Gamaliel, Kentucky to the late Bessie Pipkin and Paul Talbot.

Marion received his education in Gamaliel, Kentucky. At an early age he relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where he married Dannetta Williams. To this union 4 children were born. “Big Pip”, as he was affectionately called, served in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge he returned to Indianapolis and worked at Hy-Grades Meat Packing. Marion later became a driver in various capacities and later retired from Yellow Freight Trucking.

Daddy “Big Pip” was a great provider and showed love for his children, always making sacrifices for them. Marion was well known for his comedic sense of humor. Marion had a love for playing cards, casinos, traveling, and sightseeing. He was an avid baseball fan and loved listening to the Blues and Country music. Daddy “Big Pip” will truly be missed by his family.

Marion “Big Pip” leaves to cherish his memory his devoted children Marion Bessie, Martel Gina, Randy (Marion) Larkins, Rickey Pipkin Sr., and Francesska Haynes; grandchildren Larry Moore, Tammi (Keith) Pratt, Steveeann Jones, Marion Larkins Jr., Antonia Fields, Genevieve Fields, Ginnie Larkins, and Rickey Pipkin Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren; a loving cousin like a sister Joyce Thomas and a host of cousins and friends.

My deepest condolences to the Pipkin family. Even though I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Marion Pipkin, I understand that losing a loved one is heartbreaking. For that reason I would like to share a comforting hope given to us by our God found in Revelation 21: 4 – “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” May the hope of this promise comfort your minds and hearts. If you would like to learn more about this comforting hope, please visit JW.org.
